Happy Birthday Dr Seuss

02 March 2010
Today is Dr Seuss' Birthday and National Read Across America Day!

We've been reading to Finn since he was born.  In fact, his book group at the library was one of the first few things I blogged about.  {Awww look at how little he was!}  It's something that I'm so glad we do, something he loves, and something you can start today with your child.  Plus, you get to re-live all of the cool books like The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Where the Wild Things Are, & Goodnight Moon.  So grab your little munchkin and get reading.

Some of our favorite books recently are:
  • Go Dog, Go!  {Dr Seuss}
  • Amy & Ivan  {Charise Mericle Harper}
  • Underwear Do's and Don'ts  {Todd Parr}
  • Get Into Gear  {Elle D Risco}
  • Bright Stanley  {Matt Buckingham}
  • Snappy Little Monsters  {Dugald Steer}
  • Green Eggs & Ham  {Dr Seuss}
  • and the Look & Find Disney Cars
So get some Green Eggs & Ham for lunch and wash it down with a Pink Yink Ink Drink.  If you want some more Seussical ideas, check out Finn's Dr Seuss Birthday Party.

Thanks for the comment at croqzine. We love Go Dog, Go, too. I was thinking it could be a fun party theme (esp. the funny party hats, and the big dog party at the end). Thanks for the other book recommendations! :)
