The World. It's Small. And Jen, She Is Old.

12 April 2010
I have a blog that I read daily.  I love it.  I can't even remember where I found it or how I did, but I love it.  Like super puffy heart, read it every morning even if others wait sort of way.

An American Mom In Paris.  Go there when you're done here.  I would say go there now but, if you're a Francophile, you may never come back.  Even if you're not, you're still going to love her.  It's hilarious and makes me miss Paris a lot. I have to say, makes me jealous a teeny bit too because ummm her oldest is bilingual, she's raising her kids in Paris, she IS the hope that SOMEDAY maybe we'll have an overseas opportunity somewhere amazing like Paris.  OK, I'm a lot jealous.

This morning, I was taking a trip down memory lane about my first trip to Paris where the Kinder Eggs were flowing like the Seine and the croissants were unbelievable. Where I discovered my love of all things French and Mr Zappetelli listened {how he survived a trip with all of us girls is beyond me} to us sing Copacabana ad nauseum. To this day every single time I hear that song, I think of this trip, the one Amy and I still laugh about hysterically.  Like big hiccuping stupid laughs where we snort and just utter small phrases like "Maxime falling on his face," or "Michelle and the RER," or "BIDETS!" and we die a thousand deaths because it is so funny.

I completely realize that we're weird.  The whole Copacabana thing was all our friend Mindy whom I haven't seen since high school.  She was a year older than us and we coaxed her into going in and buying some kind of alcohol for us our last night in Paris.  I can't even remember what it was now, but it was fun.  Don't tell my mom and don't alert Mr Z.

And the memory lane visit was provoked by our friend Jennifer's birthday, who through the magic of Facebook, we can now virtually celebrate with.  Seventeen years ago we were celebrating in Paris and now we're celebrating on Facebook.  We were all laughing and leaving funny messages on her status when Mindy posted something about being in Paris for all of us, this time with her husband and kids.  I didn't know she was even on Facebook!  I immediately friended her.

And when I saw her page... I saw her blog listed.

What?!?!  No.

It can't be.

Um yes.

I am absolutely dumbfounded.  My awesome blog find?  It's her.  And neither of us ever knew it despite commenting on each other's blogs.

How small is the world and how cool is that?

So for you Jen, on your birthday and Brooke, Amy, Laura, Jill but, mostly for you Mindy... you girls are absolutely fabulous.

Love it! I think I'm going to have to bust my journal again to soak in some more nostalgia before I go to bed tonight. But then I'd be laughing so hard that I wouldn't be able to fall asleep until tomorrow.

I am still freaking out about the whole blog connection...that is just too crazy!

Happy Birthday, Jennifer!

p.s. Did you know that Mr. Z is on facebook?

p.p.s. When will you stop associating me with bird sex?
