Happy. With a Side of No Pictures.

Blogging can sometimes be exhausting.

Oh, I know as a blogger, we’re not supposed to reveal this fact.  It’s like Fight Club.  We’re not supposed to bitch about blogging in of itself because really, a lot of you who read aren’t bloggers and could care less.  Anywho, it’s sometimes a pain in the ass.  Just know that I like writing rambling enough that I’m not going anywhere.

I can’t remember why I started writing this post.

Oh, yes.  So I’ve been feeling a little burnt out and we have a load of stuff going on right now that is blog-worthy, but here is the thing… sometimes I want to just not.  I have this kick ass recipe for grilled broccoli and asparagus.  This weekend alone, we went to the zoo, the park, the drive in {Avengers rocked my socks off!} and had friends over for a yummy outdoor barbeque and time in our cheapie blow up pool from Tar-jay.  Plus, I came within one day and twenty minutes of my friend Jen’s birth guessing poll, so YAY for baby Katherine’s good timing!

I also took a nap three days in a row. My house is a disaster area.  My CRV cargo area was somehow filled with popcorn {that because I am watching what I eat, I couldn’t even partake in!} so the Davester spent the better part of an hour removing car seats and vacuuming every crevice.  Diet and exercise is bullshit, but necessary.  Plus, at thirty-six years old, I should know that my white ass Irish/Scottish skin needs a slathering of sunscreen or I will burn and yet, I continually neglect to do so.

Just keeping it real.

In summary, I took this weekend off and it felt good.  Fight Club.

What did you do?

  1. Well even though your weekend seemed pretty busy - it sounded like a good time!!! I wish we had stuff around here to do... the park is only fun for so long. Our drive in was destroyed when a tractor trailer hit the sign and blew up all the electricity to the whole place. They decided not to fix it, so there goes another thing to do in this lovely town. At least now I don't have to worry about cleaning popcorn up out of the car!! :o)

I went to the grocery store and had to work all weekend. Now, that my friend is an exciting weekend!! I got the pleasure of going to Wegmans and dealing with 4, yes 4, tour buses of foreign people. For Christ's sake people, move out of my way, they are just frozen peas!!! It was just super annoying because I was in a hurry.

Then I had to work 330-1130 all weekend. It was a pretty laid back weekend in the emergency room. And I have to give you credit - even though you didn't lather with sunscreen, at least you didn't have to come to the ER for "severe sunburn" like the 2 jackasses I encountered this weekend!!!! I only go screamed at by one "holier than thou" doctor, so all in all, it was a pretty good weekend!!!

I also go to catch up with my Words With Friends and Draw Something games, so that was pretty awesome too!!!

I just wish I had my weekends to spend with my kids. It seems they are growing up at super speed!!!

  3. Sorry about the popcorn in the back, and the water (and any chocolate that may have been waved in front of you). My weekend ended with a Mud Hens game complete with a screaming 4 1/2 year old, and trying to get the laundry caught up (epic fail. On the bright side I FINALLY finished book #2. Now I need to go to school (NOT READY!)

  4. Finished yard clean-up Spring '12, got some shopping done, forced Boo Boo to get a handle on her crafting stuff - bought her a rolling cabinet to contain it all, picked up treats for staff appreciation day at school, made a meatloaf and polenta for dinner AND got exactly one load of laundry complete. Too bad I have a busy week. :( PTO tonight, Girls Scout picnic tomorrow, Soccer Wed.....good grief I will need that three day weekend. :)

  5. I love taking the weekend off. :) Sounds like you had a great one! I worked a bit, cooked for my BIL's girlfriend who recently had a baby and then baked on Sunday morning before dropping off the food and doing Sunday night dinner and Lost at a friend's house. It was fabulous!

  6. Pretty much not a thing. I don't even remember. Except for mop and sweep. Pretty pathetic.
