You. And The Imaginary People In My Head.

Today I want you to step outside the box, leave a comment and tell me something about YOU.

Really.

Tell me who you are.  Tell me why you read.  Tell me a deep dark secret you want to share with the whole internet... wait, don't do that ok?  I'm pretty sure some of you are freaks and I don't really want to know your freak filled stuff.  I want to be the only lunatic sharing weird stuff here.  Tell me where you're from or how you found me.  Something.  Tell me something.  I want to stop by your blog and say hello.  Or if you don't have a blog, I want to send you an email saying, "Get a blog you big weirdo.  All the cool kids are doing it!"  Do you know me in real life?  Do you have 6 kids?  Do you drive a school bus for a living?

I'll start.  Hi, my name is Michelle...

When I was little I had an imaginary friend named Kevin.  I used to have Kevin go to restaurants with us and proceed to {rather loudly} have a coronary if my parents didn't have a seat for him to have dinner.  Nothing less than a full on place setting with filled water glass and the whole shebang.  Once my dad accidentally {on purpose} slammed Kevin's head in the car door and I freaked out.

I'm not sure what ever happened to Kevin, but I'd like to think he's still hanging around waiting just long enough for me to lose my mind so I can see him again.  It may be soon, so hang in there sweet Kevin.

I also may have yelled "Fuck you Kevin!" down the street when I was five, but I think that was toward the real live Kevin who was my friend's brother.  And yes, my mom washed my mouth out with soap.  That obviously helped didn't it?

So um, back to you...

  1. I came across you in your RAOK-birthday post (and loved it - no memory of who linked it though...), but I definitely have stuck around because I realized we're from the same area. In the non-creepiest way possible, it's fun to see posts where I recognize things. Also, you're funny and creative too! I am inspired by all the things you post.

I don't keep up my blog. Tried and failed. I'm a working mom/step-mom. Thirty years old. Actually live across the border in MI, but work in OH. Not exciting, I know.

  2. I came across your blog from my friend Stacey's blog...I think I popped over a couple of times from her blog, and then you had me at Salty. Mmm...I love salt. And food. The pictures of amazing food, crafty ideas and parties had me hooked and I've been popping in ever since....it's almost become an addiction.

I stalk...er, read a bunch of random blogs and I'm always freaked out about commenting...I'm trying to overcome that hesitation...I have a blog...and I suck at updating it, which is probably why no one reads it! Mostly it's just another place for me to show off pictures of my daughter. :o)

  3. Well, I think you already know my lunatic tendencies...But for the rest of your readers, Michelle and I were originally internet friends (sort of...she actually hated me for awhile, but I managed to redeem myself), and then became real friends.

I have a blog. The current post is about purple nipples. Aaaaaaaand there's the freakshow stuff you were hoping to avoid.

  4. I don't remember how I found your blog, but I love reading what you have to say. I read Elise's posts about UK and it brought back memories. I myself only made it through one semester at UK, but recently spent 3 months on campus at the hospital while my baby was in the NICU. I was there everyday but two, maybe three.

I started reading blogs when I started my original blog about a year ago. I gave that one up and started one as a way to keep family and friends updated on what's going on in our little family. I have 5 followers and only 2 of them are friends. Maybe I should pick my old blogging style back up?

I need ideas for my three year blogiversary coming up late August....I have not written a blog today. Not sure I will.

Friday is possible, but Saturday for SURE.

  6. I came across your blog from Bossy's blog who featured a friend of yours on her blog. Long and complicated way to say hey I accidentally found you and now I cannot stop reading you.

  7. Hi Tawny um how the hell do you even remember that complicated path!?!? You are awesome. And hi!

Emily, I did not hate you, I just found you annoying. But now I don't so there. You keep your purple nipples to yourself.

  9. I found your blog through the Ultimate Blog Party...I think? Anyway, I love it! Sad I didn't find it before and I still haven't had the time to go back and read up on posts I missed in the past!

I love to blog, and often avoid responsibilities to ensure that I post a new one...who really needs a clean bathroom or home-cooked meal anyway?

  10. I think I found your blog through one of The Nester's Mr. Linky. She is like a virus, that one :o)

Well, I never had imaginary friends b/c I was way to "matter-of-fact" about stuff. My best friend had one and I totally didn't get it - but I kept my mouth shut b/c I guess at 5 I had learned some tact and didn't want to hurt her feelings and tell her that there was no such thing as an imaginary friend. Can you tell my mother was a scientist?

My favorite old picture of myself is when I was around 2, sitting on my red plastic potty "reading" my mother's college physics text book, with a band-aid on my nose from incessant scratching. I can't leave zits and scrapes alone to this day.

  14. YOU crack me up! Honestly I am not sure what I can tell you that everyone in the bloggy-verse doesn't already know....hmmmm...let me think a sec...

Okay here goes...I got a job, a wonderful job working a few hours a day making $15/hr taking care of a sweet lady...she lives in a highrise that has been remodeled-it is BEAUTIFUL she has 2 house keepers that dont know about each other and now me(my job description is care-giver)...I just basically make her bed do a load of laundry clean up her tea set from breakfast and grocery shop for her run errands etc...
Here is the secret part...she has cancer(Uterine) and 6months to a year left to live, she also has a blood clot that she isn't treating(bringing the months left even lower)...I jumped at the chance to care for someone with Cancer because 2 years of my life was devoted to daddy and his cancer and care...and i felt like I could maybe 'help' her in a way I couldn't help my dad...this job is almost therapeutic for me, healing in a sense...BUT I am scared...scared of getting attached, scared of seeing her slowly slipping away...just scared...

  15. I don't remember how I started reading your blog but I do love it! I think it is so funny that your dad shut Kevin's head in the car door.

My name is Christina, I am a stay at home mom of 3 kids ages 8,9 and 10. I have been married for 12 years and I live in Portland Oregon.

  16. Ok...so...I'm a few days late on posting a comment, but I just happened to run across you blog tonight. Can't remember how I got here though. Who cares, right? I'm here and that's all that matters.
My name is Terra and I'm from Texas (Howdy Ya'll!). I'm currently a well educated stay-at-home mother. I have two very sweet little girls that fill me with such joy...until I start cooking and one is digging in all the food and the other is wrapped around my legs screaming. They are 11 months and 3...didn't want you to think I had a 15 year old wrapping herself around my legs.
Married to a lovely man, named Eben...no, it's not short for Ebeneser (sp???). No clue how his mother came up with that one. We will definitely not have a namesake child.
I'm a certified elementary teacher, but can't find a job. Who would have thunk that the economy would effect teachers?
Anyway, that's me...in a nutshell. So glad I stumbled across your blog. I love you already. My 30th b-day is at the end of August and I just saw your post about your RAOK b-day. My mom has been asking me what I want to do for my big 3-0, but couldn't think of anything because both of my sisters are out of whack right now...one's pregnant and one just had a baby and is breastfeeding so no alcoholic beverages can be consumed. I really don't want to be the only one drinking on my birthday...it will make me cry! So...I just texted my mom and told her that I need sidekicks for my RAOK b-day. Thank you so much for the idea!

  17. I can't remember how I found your blog... I'm a 26 year old married event planner who acts on the side. :) Hubby is getting his JD/MBA in our midwest city and I'm trying to get the house in order before we have to pick up and move somewhere in a few years when he gets his real job. Come visit me - I think you already do!
